We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager who will become the right hand of the Managing Director EMEA and also reports to the CFO in NY.
Job description:
Managing the finance team (3 people), 2x AR and 1x AP.
Financial Management:
- Prepare accounts workpaper package and financial statements monthly for review by Managing Director and CFO.
- Lead financial and sales controlling in close cooperation with Managing Director and Sales Managers.
- Further optimize profitability and actively come up with improvement plans.
- Oversee the monthly reconciliation of the BV bank accounts together with the Finance Team members. Submit reconciliations to the CFO for approval.
- Reconcile accounts receivable monthly between the subsidiary and general ledger.
- Reconcile inventory monthly between the subsidiary and general ledger.
- Reconcile other general ledger accounts monthly, including but not limited to prepaid expenses, prepaid inventory, fixed assets, accounts payable, VAT payable, and accrued expenses.
- Interface with external auditors/tax authorities on VAT, income tax and wage tax issues.
- Assist Managing Director and CFO with ad hoc financial projects/analyses.
- Accounting warehouse and transportation expenses analysis and tracking.
- Assist as needed with year-end physical inventory and adjustment against perpetual records.
- Determine record retention requirements (and methods) for various accounting, bank and tax files.
- Coordinate with Managing Director and Operations Manager for filing of customer invoices and shipping documentation, including proof of deliveries.
- Contracts management.
VAT Management:
- Ensure approved vendors’ bills are tracked in general ledger by EU country for VAT claim purposes.
- Ensure customers’ sales are tracked in general ledger by EU country for VAT claim purposes.
- Monitor royalty payments by EU and non-EU country; and work with outside accountant to determine update in annual add-on % for import duties.
- Prepare monthly sales report for external accountant.
- Submit quarterly expenses to outside account, sorting the expenses by EU country, for VAT purposes.
- Manage the B2C VAT accounting and systems, including reconciling of B2C sales between the various e-commerce channels and Staxxer, as well as with the B2C bank account.
- Think proactively about improved efficiency, workflows and the preparation of periodic reports
The job requirements are:
- At least a completed bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business economics or finance;
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience;
- Experience and knowledge gained in finance, business economics, financial control, FMCG.
- Experience in Financial and Sales Controlling in International setting.
- Knowledge of and experience with improvement processes;
- Good command of the Dutch and English language (German is an advantage).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is crucial.
- Managerial experience is important.
